Priced at $165, its specs and technology put it up against shoes like the Hoka Mach 6 ($140) and Nike Pegasus Plus ($180). In this video, I give an overview of the Hylo Impact, take it out for some miles and let you know whether it's one to consider in a competitive segment. Note for anyone who is interested - I did some digging and it turns out the carbon footprint of the Nimbus Mirai is actually lower than the Hylo Impact. It's 6.1kg of CO2e emitted per pair of Mirai vs 8.63kg of CO2e for the Hylo Impact. Asics says that theirs is 57% lower than industry standard, so Hylo is still significantly below as well (Hylo claims industry standard is 13.61kg). I have literally no idea what this means, but good jobs Asics. It's likely that their scale allows them to find efficiencies that reduce waste per unit produced — another benefit of being a huge company. Still, kudos to Hylo for making an effort.
