The New Balance More v6 is a max-cushioned shoe designed with comfort in mind. Priced at $155, it competes with models like the Nike Vomero 18 ($155) and Hoka Bondi 9 ($175). New Balance’s update of the More v5 is a little confusing to us here at Supwell. In the v6, they removed the emphatic sidewalls in an effort to streamline the visuals of this colossal shoe—but despite the aesthetic shift, the weight—about 332 g in Men’s 10.5—remains unchanged from the previous model. New Balance uses the same EVA-based Fresh Foam X found in both the 1080 v14 and More v5, and they’ve adjusted the rocker profile in a way that makes the ride feel less fluid. Without any meaningful performance updates, the More v6 feels increasingly outdated when compared to newer options like the Puma MagMax, Brooks Glycerin Max, Mizuno Neo Vista 2, and ASICS Gel Nimbus 27—all of which offer often lighter, smoother rides with far more exciting foams. While the More v6 appears to be lagging behind the innovation curve, Fresh Foam X is still a very comfortable compound. If you’ve been a perennial fan of the More series, we’d recommend picking up the More v5 at a discount ($112 with our Supwell App exclusive code).
