The Salomon Aero Blaze 3 is a lightweight daily trainer designed for speed. Priced at $140, it competes with shoes like the Hoka Mach 6 ($140), Adidas SL2 ($130), and New Balance Rebel v5 ($140). Think of the Aero Blaze 3 as a lighter, faster, and more affordable version of the max-cushioned Aero Glide 3—one of our favorite daily trainers at Supwell. Salomon switched up the midsole foam in this model, opting for a PEBA/EVA blend that is slightly more firm than the foam in the AG3. Salomon addressed some of the fit issues we had with the Aero Glide 3. The upper is more dialed-in (though still maybe a touch long), and the tongue is now shorter and better padded, making for a more secure and comfortable fit overall. It’s lighter than the Aero Glide 3, potentially bouncier, and slightly firmer—with a much better toe-off, especially for forefoot strikers. Compared to the Rebel v5 and Mach 6, the Aero Blaze 3 brings a firmer, more supportive feel that can handle longer runs without bottoming out. It's cushioned and comfortable, but also smooth and responsive. This is a perfect summer daily trainer—lightweight, fast, and fun. We'll have to see how the outsole rubber holds up, since we saw some wear in the Aero Glide 3 around the 100-mile mark, but so far, things are looking good. The only real question is whether this is the type of shoe you need in your rotation. For marathon training, many runners opt for max-cushioned shoes on recovery and steady days, and opt for carbon-plated shoes for speed sessions and workouts. But if you're looking for a lightweight, speed-oriented daily trainer, the Aero Blaze 3 is a Supwell-certified banger.
