The Anta Zone 2 90 is a daily trainer designed for comfort and speed. At $120, it competes with models like the Adidas Evo SL ($150) and the ASICS Novablast 6 ($155). The step-in feel is comfortable, and the fit is true to size. Out on the run, we found the shoe to be very pleasant to run in. The foam is softer than we expected, but it has the same sensation underfoot as what you get with the OG Lightstrike Pro in the Evo SL and Adios Pro 3. You get a lot of squish and not as much protection due to the super-aggressive rocker and soft foam, but you don’t have to put much power into it to get the compression and decompression. It’s a little narrow in the back, so it’s not the most stable shoe. Also know that it’s not a max-cushion shoe or the most protective option, so we wouldn’t be taking it for our longest runs. It is definitely a daily trainer that leans toward speed, and it’s likely more of a Zone 3 (rather than Zone 2), uptempo daily shoe. It has a pleasant bounce and lightweight feel to it, with a nice, smooth rocker in the front. At $120, it is by far the best iteration of a daily trainer at this price point, and arguably even in the $150–$170 price range.
