The Brooks Hyperion Elite 4 is a marathon racing shoe released in 2024. It's one of the few top-tier racers that doesn't use a PEBA-based foam. Instead, this version features a new supercritical EVA and TPEE blend called DNA Flash v2. It has an ultra-minimal upper and tongue, reminiscent of a track spike. With its firm foam and a carbon fiber plate positioned close to the foot, the ride isn't particularly comfortable—especially over longer periods. Following considerable negative feedback about the non-PEBA foam, Brooks updated the midsole in the Hyperion Elite 4 PB to a PEBA-based version.
