The Atomo Star is Diadora’s max-cushioned daily trainer. Priced at $240, it competes with shoes like the ASICS Superblast 2 ($200) and Puma Magnify Nitro Max ($180). Featuring a supercritical EVA midsole and no plate, it lacks the bounce and fun factor you’d expect from a daily trainer priced north of $200. The Atomo Star has a thick, low-volume upper with leather overlays, giving it more of a lifestyle feel. It’s definitely runnable, but it falls into the category we at Supwell affectionately call a “Run Club Shoe,” rather than a true performance trainer. It’s soft underfoot but lacks the lively bounce you'd expect from such a high stack of foam. If you’re after a moon-boot ride, a novel experience, or just a more fun and exciting shoe in a similar price range, we recommend checking out the Nike Pegasus Premium or Hoka Skyward X instead.
