The Hoka Clifton 11 is an everyday running shoe designed to be a comfortable option for the masses. Priced at $155, it competes with shoes like the ASICS Novablast 6 and Nike Vomero 18. There is nothing fancy or exciting about the Clifton 11, but that is exactly what you should expect. As in past iterations, the Clifton 11 midsole is made of a compression-molded EVA foam that will soften and break in over time and like the previous model, it has an 8mm drop. The upper is comfortable with good padding in the tongue and in the heel and it fits true to size with a decently wide toe box. You don’t get a lot of bounce or pep out of this foam and it feels a little firm right out of the box, but what you do get is a nice smooth ride, good impact absorption, and comfort. If you are looking for a reliable, cushioned, comfortable do-it-all shoe that you can walk in and run in 3-5 times per week up to 60-90 minutes, this will be a great, budget-friendly pick. Alternatively, if you are looking for something fun and exciting with some good energy return, try the ASICS Novablast 6, Nike Vomero Plus, or the R.A.D UFO.
