The Hoka Mach 7 is a lightweight daily trainer designed for versatility. Priced at $145, it’s built to compete with shoes like the Puma Velocity Nitro 4 and Adidas Evo SL. In this version, Hoka kept the supercritical EVA midsole along with the same rubber pattern on the outsole. The upgrades are found in the upper, which provides a more dialed fit and adds a gusseted tongue, though it still runs snug and you may want to consider going up a half size. It feels very low to the ground compared to many of the shoes we typically run in, offering plenty of ground feel but less protection than max-stack options. The Mach 7 features a very smooth rocker geometry, great toe-off, decent comfort, and a nice bounce through the midfoot. It’s definitely not a high-mileage training shoe or a recovery-day option due to its flexible design and lower stack of foam. However, if you’re looking for a simple daily trainer for shorter runs, hill sprints, and faster, up-tempo miles, the Mach 7 remains a solid choice.
