The Kiprun Kipride Max is a max cushioned training shoe designed for comfort and versatility. At $160 it will be competing with the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28 ($170) and the Hoka Bondi 9 ($175). The Kipride Max is the first Kiprun shoe being introduced to the US market. It features a 42mm stack of a soft EVA/PEBA blend with a 6mm drop. The step-in feel is fantastic with a nice wide toebox, good padding on the upper and around the heel, and a very comfortable insole. It has a nice wide platform that provides good stability, but it is also very lightweight for a max cushion shoe compared to its competitors. Out on the run we found the foam to be very fluffy and cushioned and its geometry delivered a very smooth and pleasant ride experience. It has good bounce and will likely be a crowd pleaser. If you are looking for a lighter weight, comfort-oriented daily trainer with lots of protective cushioning for stacking miles, the Kipride Max would be a great choice.
