Li-Ning Feidian 6 Ultra

The Li-Ning Feidian 6 Ultra is a super stacked race shoe designed for ultimate speed and protection over long miles. Priced at $400 and available on Amazon, it's designed to compete with top-tier racers like the Nike Alphafly 3 ($295) and Puma Fast-R 3 ($300). The Feidian 6 Ultra is Li-Ning’s top tier race shoe in the Feidian line and is one step above the Feidian 6 Elite, which retails for $210. Both shoes utilize Li-Ning’s Super Boom capsule technology, a PEBA race foam, and a carbon fiber plate. The Ultra has a slightly more performance-oriented upper, but a similar booty construction. Upon step-in the fit is very similar to the Elite—roomy both in volume and length in the toebox, but we went with our normal size and it performed well on the run. The Feidian 6 Ultra comes in around 220 grams in our Men’s size 10.5, which is almost identical to the Elite. It has a more aggressive geometry and heel bevel. The heel is very narrow, but we did not have any issues with stability. Out on the run, the foam is a little more firm than in the Elite and it seemed like it would reward a powerful midfoot to forefoot strike and perform well at faster than marathon paces. The foam felt protective, slightly more firm, but not quite as explosively bouncy as in the Elite. If you love cool new tech in running and racing shoes, you will definitely enjoy this shoe and all the detail and innovation that went into its development.
