The Skechers Aero Razor is a lightweight, $140 speed trainer. Featuring a 36mm stack of ATPU foam, it's offering a streamlined speed option in a world of max stack super trainers. The upper is very nicely made with a snug, performance fit and it fits true to size. Out on the run, it is exactly what we expected—a highly rockered, low to the ground, firm, speed training shoe. The most notable quality is how rockered it is, which encourages a quick turn over. It is noticeably low to the ground in the forefoot, but it doesn’t feel as minimal as something like the Adios 9. It would feel better with a little more foam in the forefoot, but the bounce is good when putting down power. For high mileage training, it is hard to say when you’d pull for the Aero Razor over a higher stack super trainer or a carbon-plated race shoe. However, for the right type of runner who is working on running economy and not stacking as many miles each week, it would be great for speed workouts, faster repeats, hill sprints or as an uptempo daily trainer. If you are looking for protection, comfort, bounce and fun in your uptempo daily trainer or speed trainer, there are better options.
