The Veloci Featherweight is a super trainer designed for versatility. Priced at $200, it competes with models like the ASICS Sonicblast 2 ($190) and the Saucony Endorphin Azura ($150). Veloci is a US-based start-up brand catering to runners who want a more anatomical fit and a higher drop. Like some other shoes with a wider forefoot, the Featherweight fits a little short and low-volume, but the upper is nice and lightweight. It features a dual-layer midsole made of Veloci’s FeatherFoam, an ATPU compound, along with a nylon plate for stability. The result is a very firm underfoot feel. Unlike some ATPU foams, this one is not soft and may require some break-in; however, the foam does come alive when you put more force into it and pick up the pace. There isn't a lot of compression or bounce, but it does provide plenty of protection. Out on the run, the geometry and rocker are just okay, and the 10mm drop and narrow heel are definitely noticeable. If you like anatomical-fit shoes, a firmer underfoot feel, and a 10mm drop, the Featherweight could be a good option for you.
