The Metaspeed Sky Paris is Asics’ newest racing shoe. Released alongside the Metaspeed Edge Paris and priced at $250, it competes with shoes like the Saucony Endorphin Elite ($275), Nike Alphafly Next% 3 ($285), and Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 ($230). Both the Sky and Edge feature a 5mm heel-to-toe drop and FFTurbo+ race foam, but they differ in the placement of the carbon fiber plate, with the Sky’s plate sitting higher in the forefoot. It’s marketed as the better option for stride-style (versus cadence-style) runners. The Sky Paris is narrower, lighter, and more agile than the Alphafly 3 and most other marathon race-day shoes on the market. We believe it truly shines in short-distance training and faster races, making it a stronger competitor to shoes like the Nike Streakfly 2 ($180). What it lacks in stability and long-distance protection, it more than makes up for with its aggressive workout performance. If you’re looking for a fast training shoe and a race-day option to help you crush your 10K or set a new half marathon PR, we believe the Sky Paris is an excellent choice.
