The Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra is a max cushioned shoe designed for bounce and comfort. It compares with shoes like the ASICS Megablast ($225) and Nike Vomero Premium ($230). Unlike many daily trainers in the Western market, Li-Ning uses several different innovative materials in the construction of the Red Hare 9 Ultra—a boom capsule and a winged fiberglass plate sandwiched between two different layers of race-caliber foam, all in a lightweight package. The fit was perfect in our normal size and the upper materials and laces are comfortable, yet not overly plush with a pleasant step-in feel. On the run we knew within 5 steps that the Red Hare 9 Ultra was going to deliver a transcendent experience—so bouncy, so protective, so fun—a floating along sensation. If you don’t mind a little instability in a shoe and you are looking for a fun, unique running experience, we would highly recommend giving the Red Hare 9 Ultra a try.
