The Mizuno Neo Vista 2 is a max-cushioned training shoe built to make long runs feel less taxing. Priced at $200—up from $180 in the first version—it goes head-to-head with the Puma MagMax ($180) and the ASICS Superblast 2 ($200). Version two features an updated dual-foam construction, with a carbon-infused nylon plate sandwiched between two layers of Mizuno’s new ENERZY NXT foam, which is also used in the Neo Zen. Unfortunately, many of the upper's issues from the first model remain. It still has a sock-like fit that’s too roomy and feels sloppy, though it’s now lighter and more breathable—closer in feel to the Neo Zen's upper. In the Supwell lab, we measured the stack height at a towering 53mm, up from the 49mm we recorded in the previous version. This is truly a long-run shoe, built for comfort over long distances, with some running assistance (but not speed assistance). It's designed to make running easier with its lightweight build, excellent rocker geometry, improved outsole, top-tier protection, and outstanding wet-weather grip. If your runs are typically 60 minutes or less, the Neo Zen is a better and more affordable choice. But for runs lasting 90 minutes or more, the Neo Vista 2 is the stronger option. It delivers a smooth, buttery ride—though it’s not as bouncy or responsive as the Neo Zen, and the upper issues make the $200 price tag a bit steep.
