#1 - New Balance SC Rebel v1: A
The New Balance SC Rebel v1 is a fun and fast plated trainer that breathes new life into New Balance’s performance lineup.
- Buy if: You want a fast, fun training companion with a soft midsole that quickly compresses and rebounds
- Skip if: You have a wide foot, or prefer an accommodating upper and/or fit or if you’re seeking a firmer, more robust ride

#2 - Brooks Hyperion Elite 6: A
A soft, reliable marathon racer, the Brooks Hyperion Elite 6 comes with significantly more foam and a better rocker versus the last generation, the Hyperion Elite 5.
- Buy if: You’re looking for a comfortable, soft marathon racer that can still handle sub 3 and faster race attempts
- Skip if: You like a firm ride for running fast—this is on the softer end of the race shoe spectrum

#3 - ASICS Sonicblast 2: A
The ASICS Sonicblast 2 is a completely overhauled version of the Sonicblast that offers a smooth, versatile ride for high mileage training.
- Buy if: You want to have a 2-3 shoe rotation, and need a reliable high mileage trainer or if you want a more comfortable Megablast
- Skip if: You have a massive shoe rotation—the Sonicblast 2 is a jack-of-all trades, so other shoes you already have might serve better specialized purposes

#4 - Craft Atmosfar: A-
A 50mm max stack behemoth designed for bounce and impact absorption, the Craft Atmosfar is firmer than we expected.
- Buy if: You’re a bigger runner who drives significant power through the midsole or if you want a firm, protective tank for absorbing mileage
- Skip if: You’re expecting an explosively bouncy, soft ride or if you didn’t like the feel of the Saucony Endorphin Azura (this shoe gives similar vibes)

#5 - Puma Velocity Nitro 5: A-
A low stack, flexible, non-plated ATPU-based daily trainer, the Puma Velocity Nitro 5 is highly durable and versatile.
- Buy if: You’re seeking a direct, traditional daily trainer with flexibility and ground feel, but still want a modern midsole compound
- Skip if: You don’t want to feel the ground when you run or if you prefer a pronounced rocker in your training shoes

#6 - Brooks Ghost Amp: B
The all new Brooks Ghost Amp is a stable, simple daily trainer that gets out of the way and lets you put in the work.
- Buy if: You’re a fan of the Brooks Ghost, and want something with a bit more pep or if you think salt counts as seasoning
- Skip if: You’re expecting a fun, fast ride that rivals the Adidas Evo SL— this is much more “Ghost” than “amp”
