The Topo Atmos 2 is a cushioned training shoe designed for comfort. Priced at $165, it competes with shoes like the Nike Vomero Plus ($180) and ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28 ($170). The Atmos 2 is Topos’ most max cushioned shoe and features a very simple construction using their EVA/TPU blend foam that we found to be very supportive and protective, even though it is not the most exciting foam on the market. The initial fit and feel is very comfortable with a secure and stable feeling in the heel, very good padding on the heel and tongue, and Topos’ classic wide anatomical toe box. It has a very natural feeling, smooth ride even though it is more max stack than is typical for Topo shoes. The Atmos 2 is not super exciting and doesn’t deliver a bouncy, highly rockered ride, but it is a solid daily trainer with lots of cushion, protection, and comfort for 30-60 minute runs and daily walking.
