Here we will provide a list of comfort-oriented running shoes that are perfect for runners who want a soft and enjoyable ride without sacrificing fun or performance. The Puma Magnify Nitro 3, Saucony Endorphin Speed 5, Brooks Glycerin Max, and the New Balance SC Elite v5 make for a great four-shoe rotation that is ready to handle high-mileage training and race day with comfort and performance.

If you are looking for a Supwell Certified running shoe rotation built strictly for comfort, you have come to the right place! We’re back with our newest Supwell Certified Shoe Rotation—and this time, it’s all about keeping your feet happy mile after mile. From soft daily trainers to plush long-run beasts and even a smooth race-day option, we’ve built the ultimate lineup where comfort comes first. Affordable, versatile, and Supwell Certified.

Once known as the brand with the most narrow (and some would say uncomfortable) running shoes on the market, Puma has officially flipped the script in 2025. The Magnify Nitro 3 offers a soft PEBA midsole and a dialed training upper, enabling you to stack daily mileage in comfort. This has quickly become one of our favorite daily trainers. The only negative is if you don't like a 10mm drop, you probably won't like this shoe. Instead, try the ASICS Novablast 5.

The Endorphin Speed 5 perfectly blends comfort and speed with its bouncy PWRRUN PB midsole and peppy rocker geometry. While the Speed 4 was firm and narrow, the Speed 5 has returned to the more comfortable underfoot feel of the Speed 3.

The Glycerin Max has earned its place in the comfort hall of fame: it has a huge stack of supercritical foam that’s not too soft, not too firm, a 6mm drop for forefoot protection, and a plush, padded upper. For long runs in peak comfort, reach for the Glizzy Max.

The SC Elite v4 was highly comfortable, but it wasn’t a shoe we’d want to lace up for 26.2. In the v5, New Balance has kept the soft, bouncy PEBA from last, but shaved excess weight and tuned the geometry for better speed capability. This shoe just made our List of Top 5 Recent Running Shoe Releases of 2025 and is quickly becoming one of our favorite marathon training shoes. It still isn't necessarily making our list of the top fastest marathon day racing shoes, but for most people going the full marathon distance, comfort is a very important characteristic.
In this video on the YouTube channel, Yowana takes the SC Elite v5 out for a marathon-paced workout and talks about why it is his current favorite marathon training shoe:
