The Nike Winflo 12 is a budget-friendly daily training shoe designed for comfort and versatility. You can currently get it on sale for around $100, and it just looked so good that we had to try it out. The Winflo 12 features an updated version of Nike’s Cushlon 3.0 foam and an Air Unit. It measures around 39mm in the heel and has a 10mm drop. The step-in feel is really nice and comfortable, and there are a lot of details that you wouldn’t typically find in a shoe at this price point. The fit is a bit narrow through the forefoot, which is something to watch out for if you have a wider foot. The outsole looks very durable and grippy, with fairly thick rubber in a typical Nike waffle pattern. The ride of the shoe was surprisingly pleasant. The tall stack of foam in the heel feels really nice, and the Air Unit creates a smooth transition from the heel to the toe. It’s comfortable, easy to run in, and has a decent amount of bounce. It’s very enjoyable to run in for recovery miles or relaxed runs, while the sidewalls wrapping up on the medial side provide good stability and you get some excitement from the midsole setup. The foam also holds up well for longer runs, which is not always the case with these budget-friendly shoes. For the price, the Winflo 12 is an incredible running shoe, and even removing price from the equation, it is a fantastic max-cushion daily trainer option.
