The R.A.D Mallow is a max-cushioned training shoe designed for comfort and protection. Priced at $150, it competes with shoes like the Hoka Bondi 9 ($175) and ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28 ($170). Unlike the R.A.D UFO, which features a super fun, bouncy PEBA race foam, the Mallow uses an EVA/OBC blend and weighs in at around 320 grams in our Men’s size 11. The foam feels soft to the touch, and the step-in feel is excellent thanks to a comfortable, well-considered upper and an overall very normal geometry. One important note is that the Mallow fits about a half size small, with a lower-volume, narrower, and shorter forefoot than the very accommodating UFO. Out on the run, the Mallow delivered a smooth, reliable, highly cushioned, and protective ride. It wasn’t nearly as fun and bouncy as the UFO or some of the other super trainers we’ve been enjoying in 2026, but at $150, the Mallow has to be one of the best values available for truly relaxed recovery miles. If you typically enjoy shoes like the Hoka Bondi, Nike Vomero 18, or Saucony Guide and are looking for a stable, smooth, comfortable, and very normal running shoe, the Mallow is a great new option at an excellent price.
