The Saucony Hurricane 26 is a max-cushion shoe designed for support and comfort. Priced at $170, it competes with shoes like the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28 ($170) and Nike Vomero Plus ($180). Saucony delivered a significant update to the Hurricane franchise with the release of the Hurricane 26. The old PWRRUN PB foam was replaced with their new incrediLUX ATPU foam, which is also being used in the Triumph 24. It comes in significantly lighter than the previous versions and, so far, is one of the most surprising bangers of 2026. Saucony uses the word “plush” for the Hurricane 26, which is often an overused term in the running shoe space, but in this case, it describes the experience perfectly. It is the epitome of mileage luxury. The fit is perfectly dialed, and the tongue has the right amount of padding. The wide base makes it very stable without feeling overly wide, and the bottom layer of EVA provides additional stability without deadening the ride of the incrediLUX foam. The layout of the EVA creates a very comfortable, relaxed feel. We love that it has a very specific purpose and does one thing very well—it gives you guidance and support on your relaxed recovery miles. The geometry is smooth, the compression from the incrediLUX foam feels perfect, the upper is dialed, and the fit is very comfortable—wide enough without feeling too boat-like. It is great for shorter recovery runs and relaxed miles. Compared to other shoes in the max-cushion category, it doesn’t feel like too much shoe on foot. It compresses perfectly with great energy return and responsiveness at recovery paces, and it strikes an excellent blend of softness, smoothness, comfort, and pop. If you are looking for a comfortable max-cushion cruiser that is a true recovery and easy-day shoe without any weirdness or extra bulk, the Hurricane 26 is a great pick.
