Tracksmith Eliot Ryder

The Tracksmith Eliot Ryder is an all-new max cushioned model designed for comfort and bounce. Priced at $220, it competes with shoes like the Nike Vomero Plus ($180) and Saucony Paramount Max ($200). As with all Tracksmith shoes, the design and attention to detail with the materials, stitching, and construction is elite. It features a very thick, soft 25mm ATPU insert, an EVA carrier, and a gum sole. While it is not a light shoe, it is comparable to many of its direct competitors. We measured the heel at 48mm, which is higher than even the most high stack models on the market. There is ample room in the toebox and plenty of length. There is a bit of stiffness to the lace-up experience and the tongue is on the thin side, making it more of a lifestyle experience than a performance experience. The underfoot feel is really nice and comfortable with decent squish, bounce, and softness. The forefoot feel is energetic with a smooth rocker. It feels like a luxurious companion for relaxed mileage and not a shoe you want to use for picking up the pace. Landing on the heel does feel a little unstable, but overall the feel is inviting with a nice bounce. If you are looking for a soft, max cushion shoe that provides plush comfort, a sinking down feeling, and impact protection with some rebound, you will really enjoy the Eliot Ryder.
