Below we are comparing the Mizuno Neo Vista 3 to the previous version, the Neo Vista 2, in terms of the specs, foam, geometry, upper, fit and feel, and the overall ride, so you can decide whether you should add it to your running shoe rotation.
TheMizuno Neo Vista 3 is on the horizon, and it looks like Mizuno didn’t want to make too many changes to the popular model. The Neo Vista 3 remains largely unchanged from the 2 in terms of specs and foam, but we do see an updated Wave Plate designed to provide more bounce through the midfoot and a more structured, stable heel counter.

Mizuno Neo Vista 3
Max cushioned training shoe designed for long runs
The Neo Vista 2 was a robust, protective long run cruiser known for its tall stack height, dual foam platform, and accommodating upper. The Neo Vista 3 retains the long run cruiser DNA of the 2, but optimizes the midsole for energy return with a new plate, and dials in the upper.
The Specs
The specs of the two shoes are nearly identical. They both feature 44.5mm of foam in the heel with an 8mm drop, as well as a top layer of Mizuno's Enerzy NXT Nitrogen-infused TPU foam (the same foam that was used in the OG Neo Zen) and a bottom layer of EVA foam. The new version may have a slightly thicker layer of the stabilizing EVA foam in the heel for added stability. In a Men's sample size 9, they both come in right at 265 grams.
The Plate
The new 3D wave plate is designed to compress and rebound, delivering enhanced bounce in the midfoot.

First Run Review
Compared to the previous version, the updates are fairly subtle, including a more structured and padded heel along with thicker layer of EVA foam in the rearfoot. The Enerzy NXT foam and plated setup remain mostly unchanged, helping preserve the smooth, stable ride that made the v2 so enjoyable.
Underfoot, the Neo Vista 3 delivers a balanced ride with cushioning that lands between the softer Skyward X 2 and firmer Superblast 3. The rocker geometry and heel bevel stand out most, creating an efficient and easy transition through each stride. The upper fits securely with a comfortable step-in feel, though some runners may find the forefoot and top of the foot slightly snug. Overall, the Neo Vista 3 is a dependable max-stack trainer that works especially well for long runs, recovery days, and high-mileage training.
