We will tell you why each shoe made our power rankings list this month and how to choose which max cushion shoe is right for you.

Welcome to the June 2025 edition of the Max Cushion Supwell Power Rankings. We launched this series as a way to keep a running list of the best shoes on the market updated each month. Here are our top 5 most comfortable max cushion gang trainers right now. Editor’s note: Our criteria for this list is enjoyment, mileage accumulation on the Supwell team, adoption in the hobby jogger community, US market availability and price/value. For reference, the May 2025 list was: Puma MagMax, Brooks Glycerin Max, ASICS Gel Nimbus 27, Saucony Endorphin Trainer, and the Mizuno Neo Vista 2.

The Mizuno Neo Vista 2 is coming in on top this month for its lightweight, tall stack and overall excellent midsole setup that delivers a buttery smooth ride. This shoe exemplifies max cushion in 2025—comfortable, fun and stellar for knocking out high mileage.

Somebody finally did it. They knocked the MagMax off the top slot. While the soft and bouncy Neo Vista 2 is now sitting on the Throne of Stack, the MagMax is still a top-tier option for racking up mileage. Firmer, more stable and with better grip than the Neo Vista 2 (and $20 cheaper), it’s the best max cushion option if you don’t want a marshmallowy ride.

The Brooks Glycerin Max feels like old faithful now. With the pace of new releases these days, it’s easy for old favorites to get buried by the hype cycle, but this is one that just keeps getting better. The DNA Tuned midsole and thick rubber are both as durable as they come, and the aggressive geometry helps the big stack move along at faster paces.

The Skechers Aero Burst might be our biggest surprise of the year. It’s fun, bouncy, cushioned, comfortable and looks great. The forefoot toe-off experience is one of the best we’ve encountered—peppy and quick with just the right combination of compression and release. The ride reminds us of the Glycerin Max, but maybe even faster. And the kicker? It comes in at only $140.

The Nimbus 27 is holding strong in the fifth spot on the Power Rankings because it represents everything a max cushioned shoe should be. It has a comfortable smooth ride, is versatile enough to use as a daily trainer, and the grip and stability are both excellent. It’s also been on sale for around $100 for the past few months.
