Below we are ranking our top 5 long run shoes so far in 2026. See where the On Lightspray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper, Dynafish Xiaonian, Adidas Hyperboost Edge, ASICS Superblast 3, and Mixuno Neo Vista 3 fall on our list.

Long runs are where great shoes separate themselves from good ones. Whether you’re stacking up marathon miles, cruising through easy Sunday efforts, or tackling big progression runs, these five have consistently delivered for us this year. From the Hyperboost Edge’s endless bounce to the Superblast 3’s do-it-all versatility, every shoe on this list makes those 2+ hour runs feel a little better.

With an aggressive rocker and a tall stack of bouncy, highly-versatile expanded PEBA foam, the Hyperboost Edge is equipped to handle any long run you throw at it.

The Lightspray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper stands out for its perfect implementation of PEBA race foam in an EVA carrier, which offers the perfect balance of bounce and stability for long runs. Despite what On says in their marketing materials, the Lighspray version of this shoe feels significantly softer, more peppy, and fun than the standard Cloudmonster 3 Hyper.

Despite its lightweight construction and highly-rockered ride, the Xiaonian works surprisingly-well for long time on feet; it offers enough protection to go the distance, with plenty of bounce if you have a long run workout to hit.

The Neo Vista 3 feels like a mileage cheat code thanks to its highly protective ride and smooth rocker geometry. If you don’t mind the snug-fitting ankle collar (which is in contrast to the somewhat sloppy and loose fit of the upper on the Neo Vista 2), this is one of the best long run shoes on the market.

While not as robust as others on this list, the Superblast 3 is fun, soft, and compressive while still being highly stable. If you like a soft, dynamic ride for your long runs, this is the shoe for you. We think the Superblast 3 is a significant improvement on the firmer, brick-like Superblast 2. While it still has the same geometry as the previous versions, the softer top layer of foam makes it feel less disjointed on the run.
