After 100 miles, the Adidas Hyperboost Edge is still one of our favorite daily trainers. Below we will share why we think it is so easy to reach for and why we had no problem getting it up to 100 miles. Find out if you should add the Hyperboost Edge to your running shoe rotation.

The Hyperboost Edge is Adidas’ newest super trainer looking to make a big splash in the category. Featuring 45mm of an all-new Hyperboost Pro midsole, a Primeweave upper, and Adidas’ Lighttraxion outsole rubber, and coming in at 255g, the non-plated trainer is here to compete with the best of the best. Priced at $200, it sits right in the range of top options like the ASICS Megablast, Vomero Premium, and R.A.D UFO. With all the shoes we test, there are only a few that we get up to 100 miles. See below why we kept reaching for this shoe on a daily basis when the cameras weren't on and we could run in whatever we wanted.

The Adidas Hyperboost Edge is everything we want in a max cushion super trainer. Adidas nailed it with their new expanded PEBA foam that they are calling Hyperboost Pro in the Hyperboost Edge. The midsole is 100% unplated Hyperboost Pro foam and it delivers one of the best beaded foam implementations we’ve seen in a trainer, landing in that same compression-bead lane as shoes like the Salomon Aero Glide 4 but with a higher-end execution and a premium $200 expectation. The ride is bouncy, propulsive, and incredibly protective, fitting perfectly into this emerging “super stack” category of non-plated max cushion trainers that still bring serious pop.
Despite the 6mm drop feeling slightly lower in typical Adidas fashion, the geometry stays smooth and natural whether we’re landing heel, midfoot, or forefoot—just a comfortable, energetic ride from start to finish. There is no heel chop sensation like you get in shoes like the Superblast 2. Instead you just get a smooth roll through that makes it easy to turn over your legs. It also allows you to get up onto the forefoot, which is great for hill sprints or picking up the pace for a workout.

The Hyperboost Edge is a bouncy and fun super trainer that’s just as comfortable at daily paces as it is at marathon pace. Unlike some of the other super trainers on the market, such as the Skyward X 2, which excels at recovery runs, the Hyperboost Edge is the best at being great for all types of runs, including recovery runs, daily miles, uptempo workouts, and long runs. While we wouldn't personally take it out on race day (we would be going to Carbon County for those types of efforts), it is really good for picking up the pace and being incredibly protective for high mileage training and long runs.
We love the Lighttraxion outsole used on the Hyperboost Edge. Not only is it super durable—the outsole on our pair looks barely worn after 100 miles—but it is also super grippy on wet pavement. We have become accustomed to the CPU outsoles on many of the Chinese shoes, like on the Dynafish Xiaonian and Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra. The Lighttraxion CPU allows the Hyperboost Edge to feel nimble and natural since it doesn't create any chop, harshness, or crunchiness that can be experienced with a more traditional rubber outsole.

The upper is a little finicky and some people have reported that it feels stiff or causes rubbing in the Achilles area; however, we as a team, have not experienced any of these issues. After the first run, the upper breaks in beautifully. There is no lace bite and the fit and lockdown is secure. There is well-placed padding in the heel and we haven't experienced any heel rubbing. We actually find the upper to be quite comfortable.
The design of this shoe has been quite polarizing. For us, we are glad to see Adidas be innovative with their design language and willing to make a shoe that looks different and bold. Once you get past the controversial looks, it's a banger. While it has a flashy design, which makes it easy to hate, it delivers some serious performance, fun, and comfort.

The Adidas Hyperboost Edge still feels amazing after 100 miles, and it may actually feel even better than it did right out of the box. The foam is incredible, giving you nice bounce, great protection and cushioning, and a lot of snap. As of mid-2026, the Hyperboost Edge is our favorite super trainer of the year.
